    VADA

    Vada is also an ideal destination for lovers of marine sports, as it is home to an important nautical center and a marina equipped for mooring boats. The cuisine of Vada is typically seafood, and fish-based dishes in fact characterize some typical events, such as the popular Vada sull’Aia.

    On the coast, shaded by thick pine forests, the characteristic establishments alternate with large stretches of free beach. The Secche di Vada are a stretch of sea characterized by shallow waters that attracts fishing enthusiasts in every season.

    CECINA

    Cecina has always been characterized by its close relationship with the coast, a characteristic element in this sense is constituted by the tomboli: long cords of dunes covered by dense vegetation that go inland from the beach, and which represent a characteristic ecosystem created to defend the cultivated areas from the sea winds. The Tomboli di Cecina biogenetic nature reserve, which extends for 15 kilometers, is endowed with a dense and varied vegetation that changes as you go further into the hinterland. On the beach the lily and the sea poppy bloom while, in the low scrub the junipers set the outermost dunes, in the high scrub the holm oaks, the maritime pines and the domestic ones prevail. Various species of animals find refuge there: wild rabbits, foxes, weasels, porcupines, roe deer and badgers. Birds include turtle doves, green woodpeckers, hoopoes and wood pigeons, which stay here for long periods. The territory of Cecina is also crossed by the prestigious Wine Route of the Etruscan Coast, and is at the center of quality wine production.

    MARINA DI CECINA

    Marina di Cecina is an attractive seaside resort surrounded by vast centuries-old maritime pine forests that overlook the beach along fifteen kilometers of coastline, forming the Biogenetic Natural Reserve of the Tomboli di Cecina. The clear and intense blue sea of the Etruscan Coast bathes, in Marina di Cecina, a long and wide beach of soft sand, bordered by the green of the Mediterranean scrub. Furthermore, since 2006 these beaches have received the prestigious Blue Flag award every year. Along the coast, large stretches of free beach alternate with bathing establishments of ancient tradition.
